Summer Solstice

Come out and join us, and the Danish Club of Red Deer in a St. Hans/Summer Solscitce celebration!  

Hotdogs, Viking stew, and beverages available for sale.

Watch demonstrations of Viking battles, tour the Viking village and listen to traditional stories during the evening for the St Hans Fest celebration.

Æbleskiver 'n Jam Day

July 1, 2023

Enjoy all you can eat æbleskiver and jam while volunteer musicians entertain you by jamming on stage. 

Hotdogs and beverages available for sale.

Watch demonstrations of æbleskiver cooking.

Garden Party

10 am to 2 pm

Showcasing fashion from the 1860s-1940s.

Join us for some fashion fun at our garden party!

Enjoy some tea, finger sandwiches and delicious pastries made fresh, in a garden, tea party setting.

Viking Feasts

August 18, 2023

Kick off Viking Days with a Stew and Brew Friday night. Join the Vikings in a traditional meal of Stuvet Oksekød with biscuits and beer. $40/ticket which includes access to the Viking Village. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

August 19, 2023

This is a memorable evening of eating with the Vikings in our event tent in the Viking Village on Saturday evening. Participants will enjoy an authentic Danish meal with three courses of traditional Danish cuisine.

 

Feast tickets are $100 each and include grounds admission on Saturday to tour the Viking village, experience Viking history, and watch a battle re-enactment.

Get your tickets early, this event always sells out.

Viking Days

August 18, 19, 20, 2023

This is our biggest event of the year, typically attracting over 700 visitors who are interested in Viking lore.

 

Through the co-operation of Viking re-enactment groups from Calgary and Edmonton, visitors can tour the Viking encampment which shows living accommodations, cooking methods, and crafts. Sample some mead (a favourite of ancient Vikings) which is a type of wine made from honey.

 

Visitors to our event can tour the Viking village, experience some Viking history, and see watch a battle re-enactment.

Daily Admission Saturday and Sunday:

Adults: $12

Seniors: $10

Children under 12: $6
