About the Event
Sankt Hans Aften is a Danish Festival in celebration of the summer solstice that dates back to the days before Christianity and it also signifies the birth of John the Baptist. Danish families celebrate summer coming by lighting Bonfires to watch, make speeches and sing songs. Some of the bonfires are topped with a homemade puppet-like witch that burns with the fire to carry evil spirits far away.
